We are absolutely amazed at the speed with which the terms Emotional Intelligence, Emotional Self-awareness and Negative “Triggered” Behaviors are being introduced into business training and coaching in general. This is wonderful news, even though these concepts aren’t even close to mainstream thought in business or the public. If there continues to be the rapidly growing awareness of the value of EI, Emotional Self-awareness, in short order these concepts will become more commonplace in business training departments, educational institutions, and other organizations where these skills and abilities are valued and needed.

Two substantial stumbling blocks to the advancement of these cutting-edge performance-enhancing tools exist:

  • Perhaps 80% of the U.S. population is not particularly self-aware, and aren’t concerned about it.   You can’t fix what you can’t see.
  • Even when we realize the need for greater self-awareness, we find that permanent, positive self-improvement has been very difficult to achieve. We might suspect we have hidden behavioral patterns that problematic to our growth, but just can’t muster what it takes to clear them. Bad habits and unhealthy beliefs and perceptions are most often deeply ingrained, requiring enormous self-discipline to overcome. Very few of us have what it takes to accomplish that.

There is good news on this front. Recent discoveries, in the last thirty to fifty years, show us we can far more easily let go of our emotional stumbling blocks. Using effective tools and protocols, now we can clear so much emotional garbage that has been holding us back. If we really want to move forward, there is little reason to delay.

And the really good news is, those people who develop their emotional self-awareness and self-control, to a great extent step into a rarified existence of success, affluence, influence and satisfaction. The reason this is so is explained by Stephen Covey’s statement, “The person in any group with the greatest behavioral flexibility is also the person with the greatest power and influence in that group.” People yield to the natural authority the self-aware exude, regardless of titles. Life flows with ease and grace. Health, relationships, careers, blossom effortlessly.

Just contemplate on this. Consider two or three people you most admire. What is it about them that is so attractive? I believe you’ll realize it is their emotional self-awareness, the grace with which they carry and express themselves, as well as the caring and deference they show for others with whom they interact.

High levels of self-awareness and emotional intelligence are in exceedingly short supply. Why not step up to this elite group of happy, healthy, affluent, successful people making a powerful impact on our communities, our nation and our world. Consider the alternative.

We are focusing our coaching work on exactly this topic. We are using the tools personally to great personal benefit. Join us.
