COVID-19 has developed into a very scary bug  that has dire consequences for a minority of those who have contracted.  Some people in their 40’s have become pretty sick with it, and for those whose health is already compromised, especially the elderly, it has proven to be a life or death encounter.

We have heard from many sources how stay as safe as possible, so this short article won’t cover that ground again.  What I want to do with this and additional articles in the coming days is present several specific steps you can take to help you be less susceptible to the bug.  This suggestion has the weight of years of solid science behind it and provides a clinical example of its effectiveness.  This is short and really simple.

Dr. Joe Dispenza, a researcher in the fields of neuroscience, epigenetics and quantum physics, he has taught, lectured and written how the three disciplines impact each other.

Recently, he invited 170 volunteers to help him conduct a simple yet compelling experiment.  After giving a medical exam measuring the level of each person’s immune function, he guided each of them in a ten minute session where they would relax and let go of any and all negative feelings (such as anger, frustration, anxiety, resentment, etc.) and then focus on feelings of gratitude and appreciation for all the good in their life.

He conducted these sessions three times a day for about a week.  At the end of the 4th day, all 170 volunteers were again tested for the level of their immune response.  While there   were minor individual variations in the results, the group as a whole showed a 50% increase in their immune function.  No other interventions or instructions were given.

I was hearing self-help authorities in the 1970’s talk about how positive attitudes and behaviors improve well-being and health, but nothing prepared me for the shock of how quickly and how significantly immune function improved as a result of these very simple exercises.

While in the next two weeks we will share additional actions you can take to further enhance immune function and resistance to illness, the simple exercises Dr. Dispenza conducted shows us we can easily and powerfully boost our health.  I suggest you use this exercise, starting today!

This is especially true for medical personal (and everyone else) who are under extreme stress right now.  Three times a day, for 10 minutes each time, relax and let go of all anger, resentments, frustrations and anxiety, and follow up with thoughts of gratitude for specific examples of all that is good in your life.  Do it three time a day, every day for two weeks   measuring how you feel every day.

Isn’t it wonderful knowing you are doing something very powerful to keep you safer from becoming an unwelcome acquaintance with COVID-19 (or other unpleasant bugs out there this time of year)?

In the next few days I’ll be adding a couple of additional and simple activities you can develop to further boost your physical and emotional health.
