We are hearing that frequently because of this COVID-19 problem, and to an extent that statement reflects an unpleasant truth. Here are some of the likely longer-term challenges we will see:

  • When the “all clear” is sounded, many will still be nervous about the virus “hanging around” until we have a proven vaccine and treatment ready for nationwide distribution. That entire process, we are promised, could take one to two years.
  • Business was slowing already in our country and around the world. The many millions who will lose their jobs – cars – houses because of COVID-19 won’t recover quickly. It is estimated this disruption could create a very deep recession and we were already headed that direction.
  • When we come out of the recession, recovery won’t be quick. Many employers will be gone, many more will be slow to recover, and that could mean job growth and financial recovery will be slow.

There is good news that comes from this health and economic crisis. The biggest positive is that we will learn from mess we are in.

  • We are learning how governmental incompetence can make a problem worse, and it is likely those responsible for preparedness will actually “be prepared” next time around. Having visited New Orleans two weeks ago, the losses caused by the 2006 governmental ineptitude in dealing with the aftermath of Katrina are still hurting the people there. The current administration’s failure to respond to the panic and fear of COVID-19 will serve as a reminder of what “not to do” next time around.
  • Some laws and regulations will change, for our current crisis is showing in stark relief just how big government, big business, and big medicine are failing to serve the vast majority of ordinary folks looking for a “balanced playing field” on which to pursue their dreams in our country.

As we address the current health scare and the personal and economic fallout from it, it is incumbent on us to pay close attention to how prudently our leaders address the crisis, and to wisely consider our own responses to the problems we face because of this disruption.

This is where strong self-awareness will be of tremendous help in pulling us out of this problem, both nationally and individually. Strong self-awareness allows us to be more confident, more creative, better decision-makers and problem-solvers. Our relationships are stronger and thus our collaboration yields far more productive results. Everything becomes smoother and much easier when self-aware people are weighing into the challenge.

Right now would be a great time to enroll in our Online course, 4 Steps to Freedom, Happiness, Confidence and Self-Discovery. Life can really open up for you.

A single discovery can change everything.
